I picked up my husband's devotional book and loved the passage and the message the writer shared.
Here is the passage:
I Kings 18:41-48
41 And Elijah said to Ahab, "Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy rain." 42 So Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees.
43 "Go and look toward the sea," he told his servant. And he went up and looked. "There is nothing there," he said. Seven times Elijah said, "Go back."
44 The seventh time the servant reported, "A cloud as small as a man's hand is rising from the sea." So Elijah said, "Go and tell Ahab, 'Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.' "
45 Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain came on and Ahab rode off to Jezreel.
The devotion person (devotionalist, devotionee, hmmm) wrote of how great to have the faith of the servant and Elijah. The country was in a deep drought and Elijah and the servant were praying and watching for the rain to come. How many of us would be so excited about a "cloud as small as a man's hand" let alone head off to report it, to a king no less? His point was that we should recognize and celebrate God moving in our lives, to recognize the beginning, small movements.
I have mentioned briefly in a few posts about the frustration and concern with work as we move through this tough economic time. I mentioned Tuesday how I was praying for an influx of customers and the bills that needed to be paid.
God is good. I recieved my hand size cloud that grew. I have had more sales in a day and half than I had all last week. It feels wonderful to know there is enough to cover the bills that are due this week. I continue praying and believing that it will continue on this path, for the next week there are bill too!
Next week is Thanksgiving. I am thankful. I am greatful. I am counting my blessings with a dance and a smile!

Love this post. I might add...What are we if we have no faith? I love the gospel and the scriptures. Ha...notice we named our one and only boy Elijah.
I am so glad that your sales are up. These are very difficult times and I know everyone has had to tighten up.
Hang in there.
Thanks too for sharing your experience with the Lord and all we really are blessed with.
What a great testimony and reminder of God's goodness and faithfulness.
What is your business? I have lots of friends in your area and I'll send them that way!
Am praying for God's windows to open and pour out a blessing so great you cannot contain it!
Such beautiful thoughts, and a beautiful picture too. We to often only look for the big things in our lives. Thanks God for the little things.

That is so wonderful. I'm so happy for you!
I too am so grateful and happy to be celebrating Thanksgivings next week!!
What a wonderful post!! Thank you so much ~ I really needed to hear this message!! The glass that you saw in that charm post was some small beveled pieces that I bought at an estate sale awhile back. The people used to create stained glass so maybe you could find some at a store that sells supplies for that. I've also learned how to cut the microscope slides in half, which is a great pendant size (it's tricky though, I lose several in the process) I bought my microscope slides on ebay, too. One other resource is at my Michael's, on the stamp isle, near the distress inks there is a tiny little box with 2" squares of glass. It's priced very reasonably too! I hope that I've helped ~ xxoo, Dawn
Great post..I am glad today looked better than the past week! It is hard times!
