The Bloomin Award ~ And A Confession

About a week ago I was awarded an award: The Bog In Bloom Award

Muse Swings issued forth this award to a dozen blogs, and I, surprisingly, was among them.

Muse Swings designed the award and says,

"The Bog in Bloom Award, which I present from time to time goes to writers who have created a place that is blooming with the beauty of their spirit, personality and words and who encourage others to do the same."
Such kind words! I am honored - Thank you Muse Swings!

Confession

So, you know the story of the Prodigal Son? How a party was thrown upon his return? Well as you know, we have return here, and happy we are! And I have worked my tush off undoing all the spring cleaning and creating of a craft room so there is a personal place for Ocho to return too. All is well and positive . . .

But I, errrr, wellllll . . . .

I had forgotten that he had parked kinda behind me and to the side. And habits being what they are and one habit usually being no one parked behind me when I am leaving. I kinda sorta backed into him. His bumber has a similar dent as my spot on the van. Luckily, he was understanding and not bothered by it at all. I was, and am still, embarrassed. I had to laugh and tell Demolition D that I guess this boiled down to a "do as I say, not as I do." We have talked about being careful in your own driveway as he is learning to drive.
Hey mom - what was that?

Oops! "Backing up" is not one of my many talents. Once, I was trying to back out of our garage with a friend's car parked in the driveway but on the other side. I tried really hard! But in the end I parked my car and had to go ask my husband to come out and get me out of the garage. I had stopped about 1 inch short of hitting the other car. Awesome. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Good thing you got such a great award to make the dent seem more (well) a little better :0

aw man! I did the same thing to my son's "new" car when he was home from college. I was not used to a car being parked "there"... He was kind about it, too. But, I was so upset and hurt for him.

I haven't smacked into any family cars lately, but I did close the garage door on my bumper. Several times. Grrr

First of all, congratulations on a well deserved award.

I am sorry for your mishap with Ocho's car. Sounds like you have really worked hard to make him a place in your home.

I know that all will be fine because you and Will are good parents. I imagine Ocho is so thankful to have a family to live with considering what he has been through.

Congrats on the award, you're a true Bloomer, girl! I don't even want to think about what I did to my son's Firebird several years back...and in a patrol car at that! Some professional driver I am!!!
