Last Year For Easter . . .

Last year at this time, we had two teenagers and two young adults living with us. It was a stressful time.  Once kids live on their own, it can never be the same to return home. In some ways they wish to settle right back in where they were before. In other ways they want the freedom that independence brings. The two clash.

Last year at this time, we were right at a year of this living arrangement.

Last year at this time, Will had been asking the grown children, asking for about 6 months, to be up by noon. Feet on the floor no later than 12:00.

Last year at Easter, we were awoken at 4:30 a.m. by one of said children coming in. "Up from the grave He arose," was not exactly oozing from us at that time.

While still awake, hubs presented me with an earlier then intended Easter present: An Air Horn!!

A needed chuckle before crawling back in bed to try to get a few more hours sleep.

The air horns intended use was for an alarm if adult children remained in bed after 12.  Which they did. More than once.  More than twice. More than three times.

Our neighbors to the north, who are enjoying retirement, got a chuckle each time they heard the horn sound.

Life has changed since then. Traveler now lives in Philly and Ocho has moved a mile away to live with his mom again.

The air horn was a funny story for all who were not having it blown at them.

A funny thing happened last night. As I was watching  Nick at Night, a Walmart commercial came on. One I have not seen before .... Well, just watch this Walmart commercial

Smiles!!

Oh my! That was too funny! I never used an air horn to wake my kids up,only to call them out of the woods to eat supper.

I remember those awful days when our sons returned to home. I am so glad that I survived it.

Happy Easter.
