A Guage Of Maturity

I pass a certain church almost everyday. I use to enjoy seeing what their sign had to offer, usually uplifting and positive. Sometimes issuing a challenge in a gentle encouraging way.

Then THAT church built a new building in another spot and moved. Now a different church and different pastor occupies that spot. And a different quote inspiration picker too.

Some irritate me, some make no sense at all and some could mean quite a few different things.

I feel bad sometimes. So much for loving my neighbor when I hate their messages (ok, just being brutally honest about myself).

On a positive note, there have been a few that have caused me to ponder the message as far as searching the Bible to get the point.

But the new one this week? Well, it has me pondering. But just because I wonder what the gauge is on measuring. So I am asking your feedback, here it is:

Offense
A gauge of maturity

That is it. So, does that mean if you are easily offended you are immature?

Or does it mean you know how tightly and deeply drawn your lines of right and wrong are and you stand by them?

Or does it mean if you offend others often you are immature?

Or does it mean you do not mind offending others because you are mature in your beliefs??

Or should I organize a culvert operation and go scramble the letters after dark???

So, what do you think?

Dormant

This winter has been excessively brown

Excessively grayer than normal

Excessively colder than normal

Most humans do not welcome change. Maybe change that thickens the wallet, or change in plans that includes a smile from a friend not seen for awhile. Maybe change in the waistline that welcomes a new wardrobe.

But change with some discomfort? Or lack of brightness to it? Not usually.

Some of that gray and cold sunk in on me in the past few weeks. I have felt it thoroughly. It has been heavy.

But I am relieved to say, the sun is shining!

And heavy feelings and forced smiles have let way to new life.

And blessings and opportunities have popped up!

So a good change has settled in and is bringing life to what was feeling a little dormant. New things to be shared soon.

God is good!

Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land.

Drum Line to Choir

This year Demolition D traded in his drum sticks for a for a black vest and a red tie as he joined the school's choir.

Unfortunately, there does not seem to be as many opportunities to see this group perform as there were when he participated in the drum line. But last week the time finally came for a public viewing - at least one that the parents knew about and were invited to.

I went ready with my camera. My newer camera than the one I had when last he performed.  I do not have the dark lighting picture taking down. Not one bit!

Out of several very bad photos, and blurry faces I came across this one:

A bad picture that I liked. They appeared, to me, to have angel wings. What a wonderful thought, our teenage sons being earthly angels. While we, personally, are not facing any serious challenges, just a few attitude hurdles here and there, cherubs and our teenage boys are not usually a comparison one we would make. But as they sang this particular song, the boys on the stage, the audience surrounded by the girls, it did have a heavenly tone to it. So glad the picture backed me up.
